Philosopher Adorno once wrote that it is "barbaric to write poetry after Auschwitz." What he meant is that living in the wake of unspeakable horror provides unique challenges for those who have an artistic impulse. We can no longer just indulge in the creation of art disconnected from the demands presented by a world that suffers. We take this challenge seriously into our work and the people we work with.
